We are delighted to celebrate Baptisms at St. John the Baptist Parish. To arrange a Baptism for your child or for an adult who wishes to enter the Church, please contact the parish office at least two months in advance. A preparation meeting will be arranged with our pastor or designated preparation coordinator to ensure a meaningful celebration of this beautiful sacrament.

We welcome couples who wish to celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony at St. John the Baptist Parish. Please contact us at least six to twelve months before your desired wedding date to begin the process. Marriage preparation includes theological instruction, a relationship preparation program, and several meetings with our pastor. At least one member of the couple is typically required to be a registered Catholic.

Registration for our faith formation programs — including First Communion and Confirmation preparation — opens in the fall of each year. Registration forms are available after Sunday Mass or by contacting the parish office. The programs take place on Sundays following Mass and last one to two years depending on the sacrament. We encourage all Catholic families with school-age children to enrol.

Please do not hesitate to contact us — at any hour — if you or a loved one requires the Anointing of the Sick. This sacrament is available to those who are seriously ill, facing surgery, or in the frailty of advanced age. Contact the parish at (204) 422-2823. In an urgent situation, do not delay in calling.

Registering as a parishioner is simple. Please contact the parish office by phone or email, or speak with a greeter or usher after Sunday Mass. You will be asked to complete a brief registration form. Registering as a parishioner allows us to keep you informed of parish events, provide you with sacramental certificates, and ensure that you are included in our pastoral care.

Absolutely and wholeheartedly, yes. The door of St. John the Baptist Parish is always open to you, regardless of how long you have been away or what has happened in the intervening years. We do not ask questions or judge. We simply welcome you. If you would like to speak privately with our pastor about returning to the sacraments or have questions about the process of coming back to the Church, please feel free to contact us. You will be received with joy.

Everyone is welcome to attend Mass at our parish. You do not need to be Catholic to come and worship with us. We simply ask that you observe the customs of the Mass respectfully and that, if you come forward at Communion time, you receive a blessing (with arms crossed) rather than Holy Communion. We are genuinely glad you are here, and we hope you feel that the moment you walk through our doors.

There are many ways to get involved at St. John the Baptist Parish, and we warmly encourage every parishioner to find their place of service. Options include liturgical ministries (lector, extraordinary minister of Communion, altar server, choir), faith formation (catechist, aide), social events committee, grounds and building maintenance volunteers, parish council membership, and more.
